Digital Services: Southampton Airport

Background:

With Heathrow Airport Holdings decentralising the management and support of group’s websites, Southampton Airport was faced with the challenge of financing and launching its own website. Sogeti was engaged to ensure the website would be 100% operational and defect-free by the go-live date.

Solution:

With Southampton Airport having little in-house UAT testing capability coupled with the fact they didn’t have the space to host test resources, Sogeti Studio, our digital test lab, was able to provide effective testing and a flexible resourcing model to ensure the website was ready by their tight go-live date.

Sogeti was able to provide a set of circa 80 test scripts that supported both website usability and accessibility testing with a strong focus on business scenarios, cross-browser testing, position, copy and flow of the website. Sogeti worked closely with the Airport’s IT and marketing teams, sharing test reports so the appropriate changes could be made daily.

Daily reporting meant that the development and test worked completely in sync. The website went live before the deadline with a completely seamless transition and allowed Southampton Airport to deliver a high quality solution, on time and on budget.
