Digital Services: Aberdeen International Airport

Aberdeen International Airport looks to Sogeti to support the testing of their new, fully responsive website.

Background:

Due to the decision by BAA to decentralise and terminate the consolidated Content Management System, which supported the group’s websites, Aberdeen International Airport needed to make the move to a new, locally managed web solution. 35% of the users on the website accessed it from a mobile device, which led to the decision to making the new site responsive. Aberdeen International Airport was unable to allocate enough resources to get the project done by the deadline, and as a result they looked at external options, choosing Sogeti to get the job done.

Solution:

The work for Aberdeen International Airport was carried out within Sogeti Studio, Sogeti’s digital test lab. The project was turned around within just 10 days, which allowed the airport to concentrate its focus on key business activities and continue to deliver a top class customer service. Over 100 pages were tested alongside third party integrations, across both Apple and Android devices.

Benefits:

In addition to meeting the deadline. Sogeti also exposed notable unknown issues around user experience, navigation and route map, which turned out to be incompatible with the latest version of iOS. The identification of these additional problems has helped Aberdeen International to improve their site further.

Quote:

“Sogeti was able to understand the brief and deliver testing in what was a very tight timeframe, within the agreed budget, and with very little input required from ourselves.”
